I haven't done a blog post entirely in black and white for quite a while. When I first started to photograph children, I only used BW film. It was a nice change from the vivid Fuji Velvia slide film that I would shoot for editorial garden photography. When digital came along I started to show more color and more of my clients would choose color over black and white. I happen to love both and would encourage you to think of choosing a few images in black and white after your next session.

I miss the simplicity of black and white images and have been doing more and more personal work in BW. This work can be seen @stephmasseyphoto on Instagram. Black and white will always be classic, but can also feel fresh and modern.

I was delighted to have Mr. G's mom contact me about a photo session and to learn that she prefers black and white! So here you go mom, a few of my favorites in black and white of your beautiful baby boy!
