Gracie meets her 1st client! {Long Island Dog Photographer}

I have been awful as usual about keeping up with my blog!  Gracie is doing well and makes me laugh every day.  That is not to say that some days have been a real challenge.  She knows to go potty outdoors but hasn’t figured out exactly how to tell me when she has to go.  If I take her out every hour we are good.  If not, when she has to go she just goes!  One of my clients uses a bell on the door and we are working on that.  I will let you know how it goes.

Gracie recently met her first client who has a little Yorkie named Emma.  This was her first play date with another dog which she and Emma seemed to enjoy.  Emma likes other dogs better than people she doesn’t know.  Here is a photo of Miss C with Gracie.  I had to record Gracie’s first client moment!

Goodbye Dear Friend {Long Island Dog Photographer}

It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of my sweet pup Sophie.  Sophie has been suffering from an ocular tumor for the past 9 months.  Sophie handled her last months with love, dignity and amazing courage.  She has been my best friend and companion for more than 12 years.

Sophie often accompanied me on photo sessions to the delight of my little clients.  Two of my favorite clients that I see each year really loved Sophie.  One year I made the great mistake of leaving Sophie behind when I went for our annual photography session in PA.  Not a good idea!  Little G cried immeadiately when she saw me without Sophie and her sister H wasn’t a bit too happy either.  Needlees to say, that was a mistake that I didn’t make again and the girls and then their little brother took a photo with Sophie every year.

Sophie loved these outings and any outing that included riding in the car.  In the winter of 2002, Sophie and I drove from Long Island to Baton Rouge, LA stopping along the way to visit family and friends and visiting interesting sites in many states.  What a great travel companion she was making friends at every stop!  People who didn’t like dogs all seemed to like Sophie.  She was so darn cute and sweet you just couldn’t help yourself.

Our annual summer trips to Maine were also something Sophie enjoyed as much as we did.  As soon as we drove up to the ferry she would know and get excited.  She loved sitting on the porch looking out on Penobscot Bay and hanging out with her dog friend who lived next door.

There are no words to say how much we will miss her.  She gave us nothing but joy and unconditional love every day of her life.  Our only solace is knowing that she is no longer suffering and is now at peace.  She will be in our hearts forever. I love you Sophie girl.

Frenchie Love = Milo {Long Island New York Dog Photographer}

Milo was the first French Bulldog I have photographed and I certainly hope he will not be the last!   Oh what a sweet pup!  He was loving, energetic, smart and a real character!  I heard that Frenchies were not very athletic… well they have not met Milo and the rubber chicken.  Milo would do anything to get that squeaky rubber chicken!  He jumped, he ran, he spoke.  He was marvelous!

Here is a little sneak peek for his parents until the gallery is up.  Thanks for such a fun time yesterday!

Lovely Looney Lola {NY Dog Photographer}

Lola is funny crazy!  Tons of energy and all she wants to do is play.  So darn cute.  I love Lola!  Her human family is pretty great too.

Mr. T {NY Dog Photographer}

This handsom bulldog is Tyson and my oldest Woof client.  His sister AG who you can see here were my first clients in Louisiana.  Tyson has had some health issues as of late but I think he is looking really good for a guy who is in his 70’s in human years!

Chompy and Lily {NY Dog Photographer}

In an effort to get everything dog moved from my ‘life as it happens’ blog, I have to post these images of Miss G’s four legged cousins.  This Bichon brother and sister are so sweet and tolerent too!

Gennaro {NY Dog Photographer}

The name alone!  Gennaro belongs to a friend of mine who owns a preforming arts studio.   Gennaro is truly a part of her heart.   He is such a cutie and after a bit of shyness seemed to like being photographed!  He is definately a mammone!  Gennaro was a rescue dog and has provided his family with great joy and unconditional love.

Delaney and Major {NY Dog Photographer}

These two beautiful Chocolate Labs are mother and son.  Delaney the mom was very vocal while her son Major was the strong silent type!  They were both delightful and their Mom’s boots were fab!

Willy and Peaches {NY Dog Photographer}

I photographed the cutest St. Bernard that had been posted earlier that I have received so many emails about.  Peaches has a black Lab brother that I didn’t want to short change here on the blog.  Willy is a big teddy bear of a Lab!  Let’s just say Willy loves his dinner!  He and Peaches are fairly famous since they can often be seen outside their parent’s yummy resturant, The Golden Pear in Stony Brook.  So here is Willy and a repost of the favorite photo of Peaches.

Just a note, thanks for the emails but also feel free to comment right here on the blog.  I love to hear what you have to say!

What a good Dog {NY Dog Photographer}

Sage’s mom is one of my best friends.  As we say we are “sisters from another mister”.  I know, how juvenile but I am afraid my girlfriends and I are like that.  We truly are sisters and I feel truly blessed to have such great friends.  So since Sage’s mom is like my sister I guess you could consider Sage my niece!  Don’t let her doleful look fool you, Sage is one happy pup.  She makes you feel like you are the best person in the world when you show up for a visit!  She wines with glee and then flops on her back for a belly rub.  What a good dog!
